The play
Collection of plays established in 1840 by Ichikawa Danjuro VII and representing the favorite plays associated with the Ichikawa line. Most of these plays are not “plays”, but are the most popular scenes extracted from works now largely forgotten or lost. Ota Masamitsu did this series of small prints in 1931. Each prints was presented on a cardboard support with an explanation notice in Japanese. The prints are presented here in the same order as in the complete booklet
